An expert in eye care

Posted on September 29 2017 at 10:25:15

Consultant clinical optometrist Don Williams, formerly of Eye Opticians in Barnt Green, has set up his own practice in Edgbaston, providing highly-specialised affordable private eyecare.

Edgbaston Eye Clinic is located just 10 minutes’ walk from Five Ways railway station, making it easy for Barnt Green or Alvechurch residents to access by train.

Don is dedicated to providing safe, efficient and patient-centred care, and over the years has built up a reputation that is highly respected by his peers as well as recommended by patients.

The new clinic’s services include everything from routine consultations and eye tests to specialist advanced ophthalmic imaging, as well as cataract monitoring, glaucoma screening and monitoring, and medical retina screening and monitoring including diabetic eye disease and age-related macular disease.

Don also carries out specialist contact lens assessments, including ortho-keratology and complex prescriptions; offers independent laser assessment and advice, and runs a dry-eye clinic including Demodex (eyelid mites) and blepharitis management.

He has excellent links with local NHS eye departments and other private eyecare specialists, and works closely with specialist consultants in fields of medicine other than ophthalmology.

Edgbaston Eye Clinic also has a close link with a nearby optician for optical/glasses services.

Don is a member of the Association of Optometrists, the College of Optometrists, the General Optical Council, the World Council of Optometrists, and BUPA.
