Edgbaston Eye Clinic now offers a dedicated Oculoplastic Service led by Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon Mr Y Ghosh MBBS (Hons), FRCSEd (Ophthal).

Oculoplastic surgeons perform procedures such as the repair of droopy eyelids (Ptosis correction/blepharoplasty), lumps and bumps, eyelid skin cancers, and eyelid reconstruction for inward and outward facing lids.

The clinic also offers the repair of tear duct obstructions, plus the assessment and surgical removal of suspicious lesions in and around the eyes.

Mr Ghosh has performed well over 3,000 cataract surgeries and more than 700 lid procedures, including about 100 blepharoplasties. He also has extensive experience in various types of laser surgery.

His special interest is skin cancer surgery around the eyes and watery eye management. Mr Ghosh sees patients at the clinic every Monday from 5.30 to 8pm.

Edgbaston Eye Clinic, run by consultant clinical optometrist Don Williams, also has an Orthokeratology and Contact Lens Clinic.

Orthokeratology is a non-surgical vision correction method that involves wearing specially engineered contact lenses overnight.

While you sleep, these special lenses will correct the irregular shape or uneven surface of your cornea, and when you wake up you can remove the contacts and enjoy clear vision throughout the day (subject to prescription and health of eye surface).

Further information is available from the clinic.
