Food on the rocks

Diners get the best of both worlds at On The Rocks, where the interactive dining experience allows you to cook your meal exactly to your taste, but enjoy the restaurant ambience at the same time.

Now under new ownership and looking even smarter after a refurbishment, the Bromsgrove venue uses the Black Rock Grill system in which food is cooked on volcanic lava rock at the table.

Everything is freshly prepared on site using the finest locally-sourced ingredients.

And it’s healthy too, as the super-heated rock sears in all the natural juices and flavours with no need for oils or fats.

Choose from 8oz fillet or sirloin steak, scallops and king prawns, Surf & Turf, fish skewer, or halloumi with Mediterranean vegetables, and cook it to your specifications on your own slab of rock. (Ready-cooked breast of chicken is also available).

All steaks are 21-day matured and all meals are served with hand cut chips or jacket potato, mixed salad or vegetables.

There’s also a choice of starters and desserts (you don’t have to cook these yourself!), plus sharing platters – and a winter set menu and special menu for New Year’s Eve.

New owners Dean and Cheryl Jessop are very excited to be running their first restaurant, and have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff.

The fully licensed restaurant also offers a private function room for all occasions, including catered business meetings, while a separate area within the main restaurant seats up to 20 – perfect for a smaller get-together.

Bring your copy of The Village when you dine, and receive a complimentary small glass of house red or white wine, a small beer or a soft drink (Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays)
