Spa quality at The Abbey

The new Turnbury Suite

New treatment room means even more reasons to visit the popular hotel.

Offering rural tranquility in a convenient location, the Abbey Hotel at Bordesley is the perfect place to check in for a peaceful break, a meal or a spot of pampering – and now clients can relax even further in the hotel spa’s brand new facility.

The impressive “Turnberry” suite is beautifully decorated with walnut wood flooring and furnishings, luxurious textiles and atmospheric blue downlighters. In fact, it’s so well appointed that it can also be used as a hotel bedroom when required, thanks to some clever convertible furniture and attractive features including a gleaming contemporary bathroom and two large windows with views over the golf course.

The facility has enabled the Abbey to offer several new spa treatments, since the room is so spacious that two clients can be treated side by side. This is a great idea for mothers and daughters or couples on a romantic break – and also lends itself to the variety of packages offered by the hotel and spa, such as the Girls’ Night In package (perfect for hen parties) and the Soothing Sunday Break.

Several of the packages include accommodation, food and drink, while for local people who don’t require an overnight stay, there’s the Total Indulgence Day which includes drinks, a two-course lunch, day pass to the health club and a choice of two treatments.

Of course, the spa will continue to offer its existing range of therapies, treatments and packages, including treats such as therapeutic body massage, hand and foot treatments, silky smooth waxing, and Hopi ear candling, while skin care treatments are carried out using the world-leading Dermalogica products.

The products are also available for purchase, and throughout March the spa is offering a special deal: purchase a Dermalogica product worth £30 or more and receive a beauty treatment free of charge.*

With Mother’s Day coming up on April 3, a spa experience would make a fantastic gift, especially the mum and daughter double treatment idea. The Abbey is also offering a special Mothers’ Day carvery lunch in the lovely Bramblings restaurant.

In addition to the excellent spa and dining facilities, the Abbey has plenty more strings to its bow – including four luxuriously refurbished bedrooms on the top floor, complete with balconies overlooking the grounds and surrounding countryside.

The Health Club and Gym boasts a 14m deck level swimming pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room and fully equipped gym, and runs a personal weight loss club to help you get in shape for summer, while the ever-popular golf course has just completed two new holes.

Weddings are a big part of the Abbey’s appeal – and the hotel is currently running a special promotion to tie in with the forthcoming Royal Wedding. Couples can book their own dream wedding package from £3,000 –  and, in fact, as we go to press, the Royal Wedding date itself (April 29) is still available!

* (Terms & Conditions – only available on new bookings throughout March; beauty treatment chosen must be £30 or less).
