The bi-annual Alvechurch Open Gardens event will take place again in 2018, with a group of interesting gardens open to the public over the weekend of June 23 and 24.

This year there will be nine gardens to visit, including three new additions: Mike and Tracy at The Moat House, Anna and Andy at Birmingham Road (right) and Joanne and Mark on Bear Hill will join six of the regulars.

The Moat House still has a large portion of its original moat, while the garden at Bear Hill includes Joanne’s art studio.

Philip Aubury is still organising the event, although he and wife Elisabeth will not be opening their garden at Hill Cottage this time.

“If any readers of The Village wish to join us by opening their garden this year, I would be pleased to hear from them,” says Philip.
