Bromsgrove Festival 2012

The 52nd Bromsgrove Festival takes place from April 18 to May 12, incorporating the 32nd International Young Musicians’ Platform (April 12–15) and offering a diverse selection of musical entertainment.
International Young Musicians’ Platform
New Guesten Hall, Avoncroft
Entry is free to the early rounds, which take place on April 12, 13 and 14 from 9.30am–6pm and April 15 from 9.30am–1pm
Finalists’ Concert

Film – ‘Song of Summer’
Ken Russell’s film about the life of the composer Delius
Followed by Concert
with Alexander Sitkovetsky (violin) and Wu Qian (piano)

The 2011 film about Gustav Holst, produced by Tony Palmer who will be present to give a short introduction.

Big Spring Sing
After a workshop day with Ex Cathedra, pupils from Bromsgrove middle schools will perform what they’ve learned.

The performance will conclude with a recognition of the Diamond Jubilee year, including Elgar’s Nursery Suite, written for the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret Rose
