Town festival brings culture to everyone

Now in its 59th year, the Bromsgrove Festival offers its usual wide-ranging programme of events for all.

The Festival kicks off on the evening of Thursday June 20 with Strings on a Summer Evening at Guesten Hall, Avoncroft Museum, and runs for just over four weeks to the final Gala concert on Sunday July 21, given by the Orchestra of St John at St John’s Church.

During the Festival period, there is an arts or cultural event on virtually every day at venues right across the Bromsgrove district.

These include theatre, jazz, folk, blues, classical orchestral and choral performances, plus dance events, art exhibitions, comedy and spoken word.

Many events are designed for children and younger people, with participation encouraged.

As last year, there will be a range of free community events on Saturday mornings on Bromsgrove High Street and New Road Rubery as well as a Summer Jam and skateboarding competition in Rubery Park on the afternoon of Saturday June 22.

The Festival is grateful for financial support from Bromsgrove District Council for these free community events.

You can find the full programme and details of tickets at, or pick up a free programme brochure at libraries, community centres, Artrix, Avoncroft Museum and many cafés, churches and shops.
