The Trustees of the Alvechurch Almshouses are hoping to raise the charity’s profile with the unveiling of a smart new website.

Otherwise known as Lewkner Cottages, the almshouses provide independent living for people who are in need, over the age of 60 and have lived in the parish of Alvechurch for at least 12 months.

The original buildings were erected in 1588 and have been rebuilt over the years, most recently in 1980. There are eight ground floor properties and two flats.

Although vacancies rarely arise (the properties are regarded as homes for life, providing the residents can live independently) people who may fit the criteria can now learn more and register their interest at
