Andy relinquishes the parish chair

May 2 is parish council election day, although not all parishes have received sufficient nominations to require elections.

Among these is Alvechurch Parish Council, which is now asking for anyone wishing to be “co-opted” on to the council to put themselves forward.

Meanwhile the parish chairman, Andy Humphries (right), says he is definitely standing down as chairman after six years in the role, although he is continuing as a parish councillor.

Adrian Smith, who was instrumental in bringing the Alvechurch Parish Neighbourhood Plan to fruition, is standing down as a parish councillor but continuing as chairman of Hopwood Residents’ Association.
