Around the maypole

Posted on May 24 2006 at 10:50:35

Children from Tardebigge First School celebrated May Day in traditional fashion at Tardebigge Community Hall.

Having worked hard on their maypole dancing over the past weeks – using a maypole borrowed from Blackwell First School – the pupils entertained family and friends during an afternoon of Bank Holiday fun organised jointly by the school, the Community Hall and St Bartholomew’s Church.

The afternoon also featured a bouncy castle, pony rides and face painting plus stalls and refreshments, and raised around £800 to be split between the school, the hall and the church.

It is hoped that this will become an annual event.
