In Full . . .

Back in the saddle

Around 100 cyclists made sure a ten-year tradition continued by tackling the towpath from Withybed Green, Alvechurch, to Digliss Basin, Worcester.

This was the 11th outing for the Alvechurch charity cycle ride, this year run by Pete Joannides, of Hopwood Garden Centre, after original organiser Malcolm Bennett retired after ten years steering the event.

And even a downpour or two before the start didn’t deter the plucky pedallers.

All the money raised this year is going to the Acorns Children’s Hospice, to add to the £50,000 already given to that charity by the cyclists over the past 10 years.
