Barnt Green Tesco robbery arrests

Posted on March 25 2014 at 4:23:06

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of a robbery at the Tesco Express in Hewell Road, Barnt Green.

It happened just after 9pm on Monday, 10th March, when three men with their faces covered entered the store.

Two of them approached an assistant who was cashing up at self-service tills, demanded money, and threatened to shoot her - although no weapons were seen.

They then took a quantity of cash out of her hand and ran out of store.

The third man took a member of staff upstairs, to where another member of staff was working, and asked them to open the safe, but they were unable to do so.

One man was arrested on Saturday morning (March 22) and one yesterday evening (March 24), both in the Birmingham area.

Both have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
