Blackwell’s new head

Posted on December 01 2004 at 11:30:03

Blackwell First School has named its new head as Ian Howells, who comes to Blackwell from Hockley Heath primary school where he was deputy headteacher.

Mr Howells enjoys a reputation among his pupils as an “exciting” teacher and as well as taking over the leadership at Blackwell in January, he will continue to put his teaching skills to use in the classroom.

During the past three months Denise Lee has been acting head.

Chairman of governors Lesley Penfold said: “Denise has not only kept us on an even keel, but has implemented some exciting new projects for the school.”
