Charity golf day

The Rotary Club of North Worcestershire raised £6,600 at its annual charity golf day at Blackwell Golf Club.

The majority of the funds will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Dodford Children’s Holiday Farm, together with a number of smaller local charities.

Eighty golfers took part in the competition. The team with the highest stable ford score was Jonathan Thompson and Clive Walton (above, with Rotary Club President David Gilburn).

A large number of local companies helped sponsor the day, many of whom also donated prizes for a raffle and auction held at the dinner following the competition.

The Rotary Club of North Worcestershire currently has 30 members. It meets every Tuesday evening at Droitwich Golf Club and has a varied programme including talks and visits, organising competitions for local schools and raising funds for local and international charities.

If you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact David Gilburn, President on 0121 445 1456 or Milton Bowers, Membership Secretary on 01527 821464.
