Choir concert cash boost

Posted on April 30 2017 at 11:59:13

A benefit concert held by Alvechurch Community Choir has raised more than £1,200 through ticket and refreshment sales, a raffle and donations.

The event, held in Alvechurch Village Hall, was in support of one of the choir’s founders, the renowned New Orleans gospel, blues and jazz singer Lillian Boutté, who is now back in America and suffering from dementia.

As well as songs from the choir, the concert featured music from various soloists, duos and groups, plus poetry from Withybed Poets.
