Crown Meadow First School in Alvechurch combined its Harvest Festival with a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising £1,185.

Parents and friends were invited to enjoy refreshments and musical entertainment from the children.

Alvechurch youngster Finnley Siembab (right) also raised funds for Macmillan by holding a cake sale for the second year running.

The Crown Meadow pupil, who wanted to help fund cancer research in memory of his great-grandparents, was helped by three of his school friends and raised £340.85 – beating last year’s figure.
