The cast

Alvechurch Dramatic Society’s latest production is Ten Times Table by Alan Ayckbourn. This comic tale follows the attempts of a committee, led by hapless everyman Ray, to put on a festival in their local town of Pendon.

Can Ray, aided and abetted by hopeless drunk Lawrence, nit-picking committee man Donald and his aged mother, reconcile the ideas of socialist firebrand Eric with those of his own wife Helen? Or will their pageant depicting the “Massacre of the Pendon Twelve” descend into chaos?

How will the love triangle between Eric, his timid partner Phillipa and committee member Sophie work out? And what does Sophie’s ex-military brother Tim have in mind?

Come along and find out! Anyone who has sat on a committee will recognise the faction-forming, back-stabbing and obsession with points of order.

The play runs from Thursday May 8 to Saturday May 10, with all performances at 7.30pm in Alvechurch Village Hall.

Tickets cost £6 (£5 concessions) and are available from Alvechurch Post Office, The Joshua Tree in Alvechurch or on 0121 447 7071.
