Councillor’s warning on speed signs

Posted on October 30 2018 at 1:56:54

Lickey & Blackwell residents have been warned not to take the law into their own hands by erecting homemade road signs.

County and district councillor Kit Taylor told a parish council meeting that “non-legal speed signs” had appeared in various places, and that if an accident occurred, those responsible for the signs could be in trouble.

“Even a sign saying ‘Slow Down’ is not legal unless it is put there by Highways,” he said.

Coun Taylor also reminded villagers that placing signs on lamposts could count as flyposting.
