Crashed car stolen

Posted on February 02 2011 at 12:44:31

A damaged car awaiting recovery by the side of the road in Finstall has been stolen.

The silver Volvo 740 had collided with a tractor and was left just off the Alcester Road where the road from Tutnall passes under the Bromsgrove-Redditch dual carriageway.

POlice say it was stolen between 4.30pm on Wednesday 26th January and noon on Saturday 29th January.

The car, registration number E140 JJN, had been involved in a collision with a tractor in nearby Tutnall Lane and was undriveable. It had been pushed to Alcester Road and left there for recovery by the owner’s insurance company.

The vehicle was worth £500.

Checks carried out with Bromsgrove District Council to see if it removed the vehicle have proved negative.

Anyone who saw the vehicle being towed away or being loaded onto a low loader should contact West Mercia Police on 0300 333 3000 quoting incident 119-s-010211 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
