Youngsters from two village equestrian centres had the chance to compete at both dressage and show jumping during a summer competition series for Pony Club members.

Seechem Equestrian Centre, Rowney Green, and Beoley Equestrian Centre took it in turns to host four events, with each centre represented by a junior team and a senior team.

Team members could change throughout the series, which gave lots of Pony Club members a chance to take part.

The competition culminated in a final hosted by Seechem, with all children taking part in a dressage round and a show jumping round.

Erin Andrews, 12, competing for the Seechem senior team, won the showjumping class (above right), and Bailey Howarth, 11, competing for Seechem’s junior team, won both the dressage and showjumping in her section.

The children were expertly judged and given useful feedback to help them with their riding. The judges were very impressed with the standard of riding, which clearly showed how hard all the children had worked to prepare for the competitions.

Kirsty Froggatt, Pony Club coordinator for Seechem, said: “I’m extremely proud of all the members of Seechem Pony Club, and I’m delighted to hand over the brand new Seechem Equestrian Cup to Beoley Equestrian Centre as joint overall winners of the series.”
