Exhibition of rare music photographs

Posted on May 27 2014 at 3:14:17

Alvechurch Library is hosting an exciting photographic exhibition throughout July, promoted by Apollo Community Arts and featuring a unique collection of pictures taken by music manager Jim Simpson of Big Bear Music.

Jim, a music photographer and the original manager of Black Sabbath, is showing off his collection of rare photographs in the exhibition entitled Jagger, The Killer and The Prettiest Man in Rock & Roll.

It includes images of top artists such as Mick Jagger, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Little Richard during their visits to the West Midlands – many of the photographs have not been seen for more than 40 years.

Jim will open the exhibition on Saturday July 5 at 12pm.

Apollo Community Arts is a new arts initiative founded by local resident Ken Banks – read more in the July issue of The Village!
