Stallholders at Blackwell Craft Fair

The new venue proved a success when Blackwell’s 24th Craft Fair moved to Blackwell Court, enabling it to offer a programme of activities for youngsters while their parents started their Christmas shopping.

Villagers enjoyed browsing and buying at a variety of colourful stalls offering gifts made locally, including these Christmas ones (right) on the St Catherine’s WI stall.

Marcus Draper, of Transition Town Bromsgrove, was present with the message that: “This kind of local event is at the heart of our movement. It brings people together in the village and we are looking forward to more events of this kind.“

The youngsters had a great time on the climbing wall, zip wire, go karts and grass sledges available at Blackwell Court.

Profits from the day were donated to Hillfields Animal Sanctuary, Blackwell, which cares for animals that have been rescued or become homeless.
