Fashion extravaganza to raise vital funds

Posted on September 18 2008 at 12:22:14

Ladies (and men!) who love fashion will be delighted to hear about a Charity Fashion Extravaganza taking place at Burcot Garden Centre on Wednesday November 12.

Held to raise much-needed funds for the County Air Ambulance, the event – co-organised by Burcot Garden Centre and The Village magazine – will showcase local boutiques and give village residents a chance to make purchases in plenty of time for Christmas.

The County Air Ambulance (Registered Charity No. 1001064) is very close to the hearts of the centre’s owners, Neil and Nicci Gow, whose good friend Bob Chambers was critically injured in a road accident some years ago and is now a major fundraiser for the charity, which is funded entirely through charitable support.

Covering a large region in the heart of England, County Air Ambulance responds quickly to serious incidents where access is restricted, and since its inception in 1991 has saved an average of one life every four weeks.

The service costs approximately £5.6 million per year to run, with rising fuel costs driving the figure upwards – so public support is vital.

The Charity Fashion Extravaganza opens its doors at 7pm and will feature:

*  Catwalk Show by Continental Collections
*  Dog Fashion Show by Paws Here/ It’s a Gift
*  Accessories by Joolz
*  Coconut Pink Handmade Jewellery
*  Live music from Stuart Toogood
*  Fabulous raffle prizes

Tickets cost £10 each and include refreshments:
*  BBQ supplied by Meadow Farm Butchers
*  Indian treats supplied by Spice Trade
*  Wine supplied by Noble Rot

Further attractions are currently being organised – look out for details in next month’s issue of The Village.

You can buy tickets at Continental Collections, Joolz and Meadow Farm Butchers (all in Barnt Green), at Burcot Garden Centre (Alcester Road) or at The Village offices. There is a limited supply, so make sure you buy early!
