Footpath safety fears

Posted on February 28 2018 at 3:23:13

Lickey and Blackwell parish council heard that Hunters Hill School in Blackwell had diverted a public footpath that runs through school grounds.

District and county councillor Kit Taylor said he was looking into the matter, but councillors felt that the school’s concern for pupil safety was well-founded.

“I had a chat with the head teacher last year to discuss a possible diversion, but it was difficult because it also affects a woodland teaching area used by Blackwell First School,” said Chairman Nick Forknell.

“Not many people actually use the path because they don’t want to walk through school grounds.”
