Gifts galore at craft fair

A variety of hand-crafted goods were on sale at Blackwell’s 39th Craft Fair at Blackwell Methodist Hall.

Textile and paper cards made by Pat Davies, the Happy Crafters and Lyn and Hannah Perkins of Karenacrafts were popular with customers, as were gifts such as decorated guest towels, Shelagh’s jams, and knitted and crocheted toys.

For those inspired to make their own gifts Kim Neale’s haberdashery stall was there to supply the materials, while Blackwell gardener Chris Kirkman was kept busy selling his home-grown plants.

This year’s event was in aid of BRWR (Bromsgrove and Redditch Welcomes Refugees) and the Friends of Palestine brought along a range of olive oil products, dried fruits and a variety of grains.

The next Craft Fair will be on Sunday November 4, when a crafts corner for young people is planned.
