Girls’ choir wins two awards

Posted on May 20 2013 at 2:12:19

Dodderhill choir

At the recent Worcester Competitive Arts festival, the Dodderhill school senior choir won the under-16 choir category and also the under 19 choir category, despite all their performers being under the age of 16.

As a result, they have been invited to sing at Birmingham Town Hall to support a male voice choir called Canoldir.

Dodderhill’s Head of Music Caroline Vinson, from Blackwell, is thrilled with the success and extremely proud of all the girls and their fantastic commitment.

The choir sings a variety of repertoire, from Karl Jenkins’ Requiem Mass to gospel songs by George Gershwin. Last year, the choir completed a choral tour of Barcelona and are planning their next foreign tour for 2015.
