Golf club’s charity day

Posted on July 29 2019 at 10:33:36

Kings Norton Golf Club raised £4,343 for the Parkinson’s Foundation by holding a golf day.

The event was organised by 90-year-old club member Gordon Dutton, of Lickey, whose wife, Cynthia, a past lady captain of the club, has Parkinson’s.

Golfers travelled to the Alvechurch-based club from far and wide, from Loch Lomond to Cornwall, while Spencer Edwards, a past assistant professional at Kings Norton, came all the way from Montego Bay, Jamaica, to take part.

There were 80 golfers on the day, who also supported a raffle and silent auction, while other donations swelled the final total.
