In Full . . .

Have your say on the future

This booklet (right) has been dropping through the doors of homes across Alvechurch parish . . . and inside we learn there are 2,364 “dwellings” (add on another couple of hundred for those built since the 2011 Census).

But it’s about more than facts and figures: this Neighbourhood Plan update is the vision of how Alvechurch parish could be in 2030.

It contains five years’ work by volunteers who want to shape parish life to be how the people would like to see it – and want to hear what villagers think of it so far.

The aim is to have a document, enshrined in legislation, that developers have to consult and refer to when proposing changes to life in the parish.

It contains policies on such areas as design of buildings, transport, health and well-being – all developed through consultations with villagers.

Similar Neighbourhood Plans are being worked on by volunteers in Barnt Green parish and in a joint plan between the parishes of Lickey & Blackwell and Cofton Hackett.

Alvechurch is aiming to be the first to be approved at Bromsgrove to go to a local referendum.
