Singleton’s Nurseries, in Bromsgrove, raised almost £8,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital with a Red Balloon charity ball.

More than 150 people attended the event where a raffle, charity auction and silent auction helped boost the total.

The ball was held in celebration of Singleton’s Nurseries’ 70th birthday. John and Claire Singleton have helped raise more than £16,000 for the hospital in the last two years, including the total from the ball.

Claire said: “We would like to thank everyone who has helped us raise the money.

“As parents of two young children, John and I appreciate how heartbreaking it is when a child is ill and we are very proud to support the hospital in any way we can.”
