Historical tale

Posted on August 31 2018 at 11:38:19

Alvechurch skiffle musician John Davies has turned his hand to writing, with the first in a planned series called The Belshaw Chronicles.

The Shadow of the Archer is set around Bordesley Abbey in 1316 during the Great Famine, and John has put four years of work into researching and creating a fictional tale based on true facts.

The story features an archer named Jake Belshaw, who is commissioned to escort a Cistercian monk from Canterbury to Bordesley Abbey.

John was recently invited to chat about the book on Caroline Martin’s BBC WM radio show, live from the Hopwood House pub.

The book is available on Amazon as an e-book (free with a Kindle Unlimited account) or paperback.
