West Mercia Police is encouraging householders to protect their homes with its Citadel initiative, aimed at reducing burglary rates.

You can find an interactive Citadel House feature within the advice section of the force’s website at http://www.westmercia.police.uk

This has been designed to show room by room the various ways in which residents can improve their home security.

The website also gives advice on how to security-mark property and place it on the national property register at http://www.immobilise.com.

The online checking service is used by all UK police forces to trace owners of lost and stolen property.
