In training for the Marathon . . .

Jo Miners and Sally Ghandi are preparing for this year’s London Marathon, in which they are hoping to raise £3,500 for two charities.

Jo, from Cofton Hackett, and Sally, from Lickey, met when their children attended St Andrew’s First School in Barnt Green.

“We do an 11-mile run every Friday, and we ran the New York Marathon in 2005, so we aren’t starting from scratch,” says Jo. “We wanted to do another marathon before we got too old!”

The friends are members of Barnt Green Chuggers, and will be running the Marathon in memory of founder member Russell Neale who died of cancer last year. They aim to raise £2,000 for Macmillan and £1,500 for the British Adoption & Fostering Association.
