Meadows pitch hope

Posted on November 25 2010 at 10:19:44

The football pitch at The Meadows in Alvechurch could be drained and made playable under new plans.

Alvechurch Parish Council has agreed to “take forward discussions” with Bromsgrove District Council over a proposal to spend around £75,000 on the pitches at both The Meadows and at Hopwood Community Centre, as well as further work to improve car parking at Hopwood.

If agreed, the work at Hopwood would be done first and Alvechurch Lions would, for a time, have priority use of the playing fields there.

Meanwhile, the recommendations of a review of the MUGA at Swans Length, Alvechurch, have been approved by Bromsgrove’s ruling Cabinet. It will remain in place and a number of other recommendations to reduce complaints will also be implemented.
