Plea for play equipment upgrade

Children in Hopwood could enjoy an upgrade to play equipment on the park behind the community centre after a plea by parents at the July meeting of Alvechurch Parish Council.
One mum said: “I feel the kids of Hopwood are a little hard done by. If there were a nicer slide and some nicer swings, the children would appreciate it.”
She added that the crossing over the busy A441 would need improving if more children were attracted across the road by better play equipment.
Councillors agreed to consider earmarking money for play equipment in their next budget.
