Natash Macbryde

A teenager found dead on the railway line just north of Bromsgrove station on Monday has been formally identified as 15-year-old Natasha MacBryde.

British Transport Police said Miss MacBryde’s body was discovered by the driver of a freight train at around 3am. She had injuries consistent with having been hit by a train.

At this stage, it remains unclear which train struck Miss MacBryde, who lived in Bromsgrove, and at what time.

Officers from West Mercia Constabulary and West Midlands Ambulance service also attended the scene.

Although the incident remains unexplained while enquiries continue, officers are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A file is being prepared for the coroner.

In a statement issued via British Transport Police, Miss MacBryde’s family said:

“Tasha’s family are absolutely devastated that their beautiful daughter should be taken from them in this tragic way.

“Tasha was a gorgeous, fun loving teenager who was full of life, so it is both shocking and inexplicable to lose her so suddenly in such circumstances.

“Her mother, father, brother and their family are still endeavouring to come to terms with this loss, so we would appreciate the media’s understanding in allowing us to deal with the situation privately.”
