Crown Meadow First School pupils Thomas Pumphrey (left) and Tom Johnson, who raised more than £75 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, dress as rescuers during a visit to the school by the RNLI.

Thomas was raising cash as part of his Cub Scout Award, and he and Tom, both aged nine, got both Crown Meadow and Alvechurch Middle schools involved in the cause – funds were boosted by a non-uniform day when pupils could attend dressed as pirates for a small donation.
