Rowney Green alarm over burglars

Posted on July 12 2012 at 9:30:01

A Rowney Green resident’s home was burgled during the night despite his alarm being set off and waking him up.

Police are now hoping villagers may come forward with information about the burglars.

It happened between midnight and 8am on Thursday (5 July) in The Holloway.

The home owner was disturbed by the house alarm going off at about 1am. He couldn’t see anything missing so reactivated it and went back to bed.

It was only when he got up later on he realised that two sets of car keys, an iPad, a wallet and a handbag had been stolen.

Detective Constable Tony Flannagan from Bromsgrove CID said: “We are eager to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the area, particularly around 1am.

“Someone on an early work shift may have been driving along The Holloway at that time and we would ask them to call us as soon as possible if they remember seeing anything untoward.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Det Con Flannagan on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 428-S-050712, or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
