Safety fears investigated

Posted on May 30 2019 at 11:38:30

Lickey & Blackwell parish councillors expressed concerns over the safety of a half-demolished house on Woodshill Avenue, Lickey.

Coun Stephen Nock reported that the owners had planning permission for a rebuild and had begun the demolition, but nothing more had been done for a year.

“After a site visit, Bromsgrove’s safety officer said it was OK, and [planning officer] Dale Birch sympathised with the neighbours but said he couldn’t force the owners to finish the project, which seems a weak response.”

Parish chairman Nick Forknell said: “If it was in the town centre there would be all sorts of regulations about fencing it off, but it’s a quiet road so they just leave it.”
