Special garden in need of help

Posted on October 31 2016 at 11:09:07

Lickey and Blackwell Parish Council has been contacted by a resident concerned about the lack of maintenance at Jen’s Place, the memorial garden in the field on St Catherine’s Road in Blackwell.

The area was set up in 2006 in memory of former Blackwell First School pupil Jennifer Jones, who had died from cancer the previous year, and was designed to be used by school pupils for story time.

Councillors agreed at their meeting that it now needs a good tidy-up, while the wooden tree-stump seats may need replacing.

It was decided that they would liaise with the school, which currently organises the grass cutting, over who should be responsible for ongoing maintenance.
