A knighthood medal presented by the Queen was among many items stolen during a burglary in Rowney Green that have now been recovered.

The break in happened between 11.30am and midday on Tuesday, 20 March, in Rowney Green Lane.

Four males all wearing sports clothing were seen on CCTV in a blue car thought to be a Mazda 3 MPS or similar.

They broke in and stole items including a Swarovski charm bracelet, two Mondaine watches, a Canon Powershot G11 camera, a Sony camcorder, a Sony Cybershot camera, some foreign currency, some cufflinks and various items of jewellery as well as a number of medals including the knighthood medal.

The items were recovered by West Midlands Police on its area and passed on to West Mercia Police.

PC Tom Birchley said: “Understandably the owner was extremely upset about his medals being stolen as they have great sentimental value, but fortunately we have since recovered them. I would like to thank our colleagues at West Midlands Police for their assistance.

“I urge anyone to get touch who may have seen any suspicious activity around Rowney Green Lane and particularly if they remember seeing the blue car in the area, during the times stated.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered cameras or jewellery for sale similar to those stolen.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact PC Birchley on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 88-N-200312, or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
