Superb selection of concerts

Bromsgrove Concerts continues its 53rd season in the new year, with all concerts taking place at Bromsgrove’s Artrix on Fridays at 8pm.

First up is the Tippett String Quartet, performing on January 15 with music by Haydn, Robert Simpson and Mendelssohn.

Then on February 5, guitarist Craig Ogden (right) returns to play works including Tippett’s The Blue Guitar and Ginastera’s Guitar Sonata.

March 4 brings a visit from the Jenkinson-Frith Duo, whose cellist Richard Jenkinson is well known to local audiences as principal cello of the CBSO and director of the Orchestra of St John.

Along with pianist Benjamin Frith, their concert will include music by Saint-Saens and Britten.

The Benyounes String Quartet perform on Friday March 18 at 8pm, with music including Mozart, Debussy and Ian Venables.
