In Full . . .

The Bostinca trail

Readers may recall Donato Esposito promoting his forthcoming “bostin” charity walk along the Inca Trail in Peru to raise £5,000 for the British Heart Foundation.

Well, despite altitude sickness and “a lot of blood, sweat and tears”, he completed the four-day trek – and then made the very scary climb up Waynapicchu, the mountain towering over the destination of Machu Picchu.

“It has been the hardest challenge I have ever done in my life, both physically and mentally, and at the same time the most rewarding,” says Donato, aged 47, who lives in the Lickeys and is the founder of the Bostin T-shirt company.

He chose to raise money for BHF after younger brother Pietro survived a heart attack in his 30s and as The Village went to press, Donato had raised £4,694 towards his target.
