The money-spinners!

A sponsored spinathon in Alvechurch raised money for the Pituitary Foundation in memory of a young villager.

The eight-hour fundraiser saw almost 90 participants take it in turns to cycle on ten static bikes at Alvechurch Sports & Social Club – motivated by professional spin instructors Katie Orme and Tom James from KO Fitcycle, which sponsored the spinathon.

The event was held in memory of Nicola Hartley, who died unexpectedly last year from Cushing’s Disease, which is caused by a tumour on the pituitary gland.

Above: Members of Nicola’s family – mum Sally, grandmother Lillian Willis, and sister Amy – join the cyclists in the sunshine.
