Tip update

Posted on October 25 2014 at 12:12:58

At a meeting of the Marlbrook Tip cross-party working group, it was confirmed that the site – officially designated as a reservoir – is classified as having a “dam wall under construction” because it has never been signed off by a qualified engineer.

Tip owner Liberty Construction must now appoint an approved engineer to undertake a survey and produce a report, which could take up to six months.

Meanwhile, there is concern from residents and parish councillors over the increasing amount of equipment, vehicles and portacabins at the site.

District Councillor Richard Deeming told the Lickey & Blackwell parish council meeting that he plans to “bring in enforcement” to get the equipment moved, but said that fellow district councillor Kit Taylor and Bromsgrove District Council chief executive Kevin Dicks favoured continuing negotiation with the owner.
