Traffic-calming ‘waste’

Posted on April 30 2017 at 11:12:13

The controversial traffic-calming scheme in Cofton Hackett has been described by parish councillors as “a waste of money.”

Coun Claire Fryer told planners that Groveley Lane is like is like a racetrack, and that the new fencing has exacerbated the problem:

“It’s impossible to pull out; there have been near-misses – and it will only get worse with 300 new houses.”

She reported to fellow parish councillors that Richard Hickman, planning manager for developers St Modwen, had told the planning meeting he was “unwilling to discuss” the matter.

Cofton’s parish clerk, Andrew Billau, said he had contacted St Modwen asking exactly what they are responsible for, and had heard nothing back.
