Forge Mill Museum and Apollo Community Arts are offering the opportunity to learn how to carve stone in a special two-day workshop.

The Medieval-Style Stone Carving Workshop takes place on Sat Sept 19 and Sun Sept 20 in the unique setting of the ruins of Bordesley Abbey, where stone masons would have laboured hundreds of years ago.

Workshop leader Andy DeComyn (right) is an international public artist, experienced in working with stone. Over the two days he will guide you to produce a medieval style gargoyle or grotesque.

Workshop runs 10.30am–4.30pm both days. All tools and stone will be provided. Participants will need to bring their own lunch/refreshments or purchase from the museum’s coffee bar.

Cost: £150. Please book in advance as places are limited.
