Victorian market opening in Rubery

Rubery Market

Rubery is set is to become the thriving market town it once was, thanks to the development of a Victorian-themed indoor market and café.

The town has been without a market since it was destroyed by fire years ago, but now planning permission has been granted to convert the existing Nexus Centre and give it a new lease of life.

Consisting of 12 indoor market stores (available to rent from £50 per week), all with their own quaint awnings, more than 25 glass display cabinets (available to rent from £10 per week) all overlooked by a fabulous Victorian lamp post, clock tower and weather vane, it will have the feel of Olde England.

Along with the gallery café, the market should bring in many visitors and revenue to the Rubery area. This new facility will also supply more than 20 employment opportunities for the community.

The Rubery Market and Gallery Café is due to open on Nov 1 and is situated off the main shoppers’ car park at the rear of 186–210 New Road, Rubery B45 9JA.
