Village hall to boost Cofton

Posted on June 28 2015 at 10:29:16

Cofton Hackett villagers are to benefit from a new hall to bring their growing community together.

As the number of homes built on the former Longbridge East Works site increases, plans are now coming to fruitition for a village hall as part of the development.

This was one of the requirements of the planning approval for the new homes and villagers are making sure they have a say in its creation.

It will be built off Groveley Lane, eventually replacing the aging village hall on Barnt Green Road.

A steering group has been set up by Cofton Hackett Parish Council to consult the local community on what is required, and to draw up a specification for agreement with the developers, St Modwen.

A questionnaire will be circulated shortly, and will also be available on the parish council website.

Anyone who has ideas and suggestions or is interested in being part of the steering group should contact Roger Westbury of 4 Cofton Lake Road on .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

* Alvechurch Village Hall is holding its Annual General Meeting on Monday July 20 at 7pm. Anyone interested in having a say in how it is run is urged to attend.
