Yelena’s memory to benefit students

A charitable foundation is being established in memory of Yelena Watkins, the doctor who established a leading cosmetic treatment clinic in this area.

Yelena, who lived in Barnt Green, was killed in a road accident on November 6 on her way to work. She had moved the clinic from her home to The Mill in the centre of Alvechurch a year and a half ago.

On Yelena’s website her husband Duncan and son Vladimir say: “All family and friends struggle to believe such a wonderful person has been lost at such a young age and in her prime.”

They add: “A Dr Yelena Watkins Foundation is being created to support young medical students at Lugansk in the Ukraine where Yelena originally studied and to benefit medical students at the University Hospital of Wales where Yelena re-trained in the UK.”

Her work will be continued by Dr Beata Pander who joined Yelena earlier this year and has been taking clinics to ease her workload.
