Young dancers take to the big stage

Posted on April 22 2007 at 3:08:02

The Palace Theatre, Redditch, hosted a collection of young people’s ballets entitled Dancers of Tomorrow, created and choreographed by Barnt Green-based ballet teacher Maxine Grant.

The performers, all students of the ballet school run by Maxine, a Royal Academy of Dance registered teacher, meet at St Andrew’s School, Barnt Green, and are aged between three and 16.

The young dancers, adorned in beautiful and elaborate costumes, performed a selection of classical, contemporary, jazz and character dances in front of a full theatre.

They were treated like true performers with hair and make-up adding to the whole experience.

The shows saw the current students perform a variety of dances choreographed to music ranging from Mozart to Queen.
